Happy new year to me, god damn. I had a bad morning on Saturday and needed to be in control of something, so I ended up cleaning the corner of my room and part of my closet. The next thing I know, I am out with my parents buying new furniture and completely emptying the entire wall so that it can be painted for the first time in 20 years. I have spent the entirety of yesterday and today cleaning everything out of the drawers and cupboards against that wall, and I am tired.

A lot of dust
Letters from Hannah, Rachel, Annie, Steph... and mostly Erin
Over $100 and 35 in Disney Dollars
Several jewelry/music boxes and various craft supplies from my 10th birthday
Felicity and "Falen" American Girl dolls
The first present Danny ever gave me—two oversized Q-tips duct taped together
Baby binkies, blankets, bibs, etc. What did not have bears on them had cats.
Bags full of stuffed animals, in addition to the corner full of them
Birthday and Christmas cards—including Bruce's rendition of the Vulcan salute, with two extra fingers.



So we went out on Sunday on a whim for a new dresser for me. We did not expect to get a two piece dresser set with matching nightstands (minus the headboard), hence all the extra cleaning. We also did not expect to hear "Yeah, I can try to get the painters to come tomorrow if you'd like." It's still not clear whether or not that's going to actually happen, but since it's a possibility everything had to be cleaned out pretty much immediately. The living room has been an absolute wreck for days.

With the frustrations out of the way, it's given me something incredibly productive (and overdue) to do, my mom and I have bonded a bit over the project, and I'm excited about getting new furniture. The set is very sleek, deep cherry wood with smooth matte silver handles and plenty of much needed drawers. And so many years later, I will finally have a mirror in my room.

Danny and his sister Becky came to visit on Sunday night on their way home from Vegas, and were Jewish-mothered into staying to eat a late dinner with us. We exchanged late Christmas gifts, minus mine to Becky on account of her actually having gotten it on Christmas. I'm really not one to post about gifts but Danny gave me an incredibly gorgeous ring that I have to brag about.

It's a titanium band with a tension-set amethyst. He said, "I know your birthstone is topaz, but you said you didn't like it and amethysts are purple so I got you this one instead." I love it and I love him. We've officially been together for five and a half years this month and I couldn't even begin to imagine what my life would have turned out to be without him in it.

Then I realize it's 1:30 in the goddamn A.M., I look around my room and there's still so much work to be done. And I am so tired.

8. concert season was fantastic, flogging molly, yeah yeah yeahs, gogol bordello, and puscifer back to back putting on great shows... damn i missed maynard
7. having a new computer (a laptop!) that does not freeze and die all the time, especially in the utgarde pinnacle gauntlet, goddamn
6. getting to see beautiful annie again after so long <3
5. not having the nagging obligation to raid and do heroics all week
4. spending time at danny's house for a change
3. being given the opportunity to take some time off and relax

At home sick again, having a little bit of deja vu here. Brian called to wish me a happy 9:00, lol, and informed me that "Yes, Ryan Seacrest, I am ready to party." I might be alone tonight but for once I have plans for the 1st—I'm looking forward to seeing the dudes tomorrow, and I am to understand we are buying Lena pants. I still miss Danny and I'm still bummed I can't spend the evening with him, but things aren't so bad. Story of my life.

Spent the night Christmas eve at Raven's house last Christmas with a dog all up in, woke up the next morning with a sore throat. Spent Christmas day with a dog all up in, woke up the next morning with clogged sinuses wanting to die.

Spent Thanksgiving eve at Danny's house this year with cats all up on my grill, woke up the next morning with a sore throat. Spent Thanksgiving day with even more cats all up in, woke up the next morning with clogged sinuses wanting to die.

Hannah's house has three cats this Christmas. Pattern continues. Either my immune system has completely gone to shit or these aren't colds I've been having.

I MEAN I STILL HATE EVERYTHING BECAUSE I AM MAGICAL AND JEWISH AND IT IS CHRISTMAS BUT I SPENT LIKE A WEEK WITH MY KICK ASS BOYFRIEND AND NOW I AM WITH MY BEAUTIFUL LADY AND THERE ARE CATS but they don't like me yet. Danny and I slept all fuckin week and I had to kick some kid out of my seat on the plane and Hannah and I are probably going to sleep all weekend. And then VEGAS! For New Year's! FUCK! It's going to be so cold but so nice.
